Haris Ali - Imam

Imam Haris Ali was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia. He attended George Mason University, where he majored in Applied Information Technology and later served as President of the Muslim Students Association (MSA).

Alongside his academic pursuits, Imam Haris studied under various scholars throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia Muslim communities. During this time, Allah blessed him with the opportunity to serve as a Youth Director, Teacher, and regular Khaṭīb, working with institutions such as the ADAMS Center, Islamic Society of Northern Virginia (ISNVT), McLean Islamic Center, Islamic Heritage Center, and other communities—while simultaneously advancing in the corporate world.

Professionally, Imam Haris worked for the National Parks Conservation Association in Washington, DC, and later for Leidos. He eventually moved to Los Angeles, where he continued serving as a Youth Director and regular Khaṭīb for several Southern California Islamic communities and organizations, including the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley, Islamic Center of Cypress, Masjid Sabireen, and others.

In 2015, Imam Haris made the decision to leave the corporate world and relocate to Oklahoma, dedicating himself fully to community service. There, Allah blessed him to serve as Youth Director and Assistant Imam at the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City (Masjid Nasr), as well as at Mercy School in Edmond. Currently, Imam Haris serves as the Imam and Youth Director at Masjid Al-Nur, also known as the Islamic Society of Norman. He looks forward to welcoming and serving every member of the community, in shā’ Allāh.

Imam Haris resides in Norman with his wife Rubina—and their four children: Abdullah, Aasiyah, Ammaar, and Adam, Mā shā’ Allāh. Alongside striving to be the best husband and father possible, in shā’ Allāh, his interests include MMA and Self-Defense, Natural Health and Fitness, camping and hiking, and riding and maintaining his motorcycle.
